In HESPERIA, a real-time tool for predicting 30-50 MeV SEP events by using the REleASE scheme, will be implemented. The tool will provide advanced nowcasting/forecasting methods based on the approach developed by Posner (2007). The proton time profiles at 30-50 MeV will be inferred based on near relativistic and relativistic electron intensity time profiles measured by SOHO/EPHIN and ACE/EPAM.
The final goal is to infer the maximum proton intensity and onset close to Earth.
