Within HESPERIA, UMASEP will focus on the implementation and evaluation of a real-time predictor of SEP events with E > 500 MeV by using the UMASEP scheme, which correlates solar data and near-Earth radiation data. This work will need different steps:
- explore several input data types related to high energy particles recorded on the ground and onboard satellites
- development of a High-Energy Data Adaptor that communicate with the HESPERIA UMASEP's core
- testing activities
For the case of real-time solar data, this effort will explore SXR, HXR, and radio data., while for the case of real-time near-Earth radiation data neutron monitor and GOES/HEPAD data will be utilized.
